He’s talking about the unique bond between InForm and Pleysier Perkins. For well over a decade, InForm (the builders) and Pleysier Perkins (the architects) have been working together to simplify the process of residential architecture and construction. And while the cliched trope of rising tensions between builders and architects prevails, this partnership couldn’t be stronger. It’s the result of a unified goal, but, as with any relationship, it’s also the result of hard work.

A culture of connection

This came to the fore at InForm’s overnight immersion, a one-night retreat that was facilitated by Authentic Leaders Group and Emma Murray. As a group, the team was given space to share authentic stories while learning to bring their ‘A-Game’ more often through high-performance mindfulness, breathwork and meditation sessions. Assembled by Jack Riewoldt, the team also heard inspirational stories during a live Q&A panel with Shane McMurray, Nyadal Nyuon, Emily Mannix, and Jack Dalton.
“What really stood out most to me was how open and honest everyone was in such a short amount of time,” Nicole Eterovic, InForm’s Senior Project Coordinator says. “It created such a safe space for sharing and a chance for us to really be ourselves in a more casual setting.”
This sense of belonging and safety is important at InForm and Pleysier Perkins. Just as we want our clients to feel at home in the spaces we create with and for them, we want our team to feel at home within themselves when they’re at work. It’s not just about optics, and it’s not just about our business. It’s about what it brings to our culture, and our clients more broadly, too.

Creativity comes from feeling safe. Beauty is born out of a team that feels in harmony. And so, when our team is thriving both within and outside the four walls of InForm, our clients feel that; not just in their day-to-day dealings with our team, but also, in the legacy that our team leaves within their home.
And the research further supports this. BetterUp, a coaching platform for workplace transformation, found that when employees feel like they belong, companies enjoy 56% improved job performance, 50% lower turnover risk and 75% fewer employee sick days. When people feel safe and as though they belong, the world is a better place.
“A memory that really sticks with me was when the whole team was dancing and playing drums,” Nicole reflects. “It was such a fun and unexpected activity that brought so much joy and energy. Seeing everyone fully let go, laugh, and just be in the moment together was a memorable experience. It broke down any walls and reminded me how important it is to bring a sense of fun and laughter into the workplace which I always strive to do with everyone in the InForm office.”

“It was also nice to connect on that level with Pleysier Perkins and it reminded me that good teamwork and collaboration isn’t just about efficiency or output, it’s also about creating an environment where people feel safe to speak honestly, ask for help, and support each other.”
