The White House

An exercise in luxurious simplicity, at its core, The White House is a bright home that feels good to live in.

Palm trees and a white exterior are the first nods to the lightness that awaits in the interior. Upon entry, a sense of calm is felt by a subtle palette of soft greys, timber, and white, that is juxtaposed by eye catching views of lush greenery and a bright blue pool from the open kitchen, meals, and living space.

The ultimately simple palette is given contrast by injections of dark joinery; most noticeably the full height kitchen joinery that acts as a division between private and public spaces in the home.

Reflecting the clients’ sense of fun, an underground games room is the second heart of the home, illuminated by the port hole window that provides an otherworldly view into the pool.

Above ground, the family comes together by the barbecue. Book-ended by the tennis court and pool and protected from the elements, the carefully planned outdoor area furthers the sense of joy, with children jumping into the pool on one side and swinging a tennis racket on the other.
